So the Duggars are on their way to another happy, healthy baby. Is it just me or didn't they just have another baby like last week. Well, Bob and Michelle Duggar have just announced they are expecting their 19th child. Far be it from me to be negative towards them so I will now congratulate them on another job well done and then tell you what I see wrong with all of this.
I myself could of been in the same situation as the Duggars and I kid you not. When I married my Wife back in 1988 she had two children(ages 5 and 7)and within 11 months we added 2 more to that total so I had gone from living at home with my Mother to having 4 kids in a little over a year.
The one thing about me though was that after the birth of my Daughter the doctor came in to our room and pitched the idea of my wife having her tubes tied. We told him we needed to think about it and would let him know the next day. There were so many things to consider like we only needed to have 14 more kids to reach our goal of 18 and the possible series on the Discovery Network but in the end cooler heads prevailed and with my assistance(blowtorch)the doctor tied my Wife's tubes.
Now 4 kids as opposed to say 5, which is what they started off with was a nightmare in itself. There were diapers, baby wipes, formula, clothes, cribs, bottles, binkies, swings(greatest invention ever)and last but not least my sanity. All of these things, except my sanity cost money and that was one of the things that we didn't have.
So how were they able to do it and not me and my wife? For one thing, Bob Duggar is a very successful business man and his wife Michelle is into cost cutting so there's was a match made in Heaven while mine seemed to be a creation of the WWE.
While they were busy building their own house I was busy getting evicted While bob was starting a car dealership I was out buying toy cars for my Son's toy collection. I'm sure you can get the picture.
Most Americans live for the dream which is a boy and girl and the little house with the white picket fence. My American Dream is still a work in progress while the Duggars ended up with their own television series. My hats off to them and all they've accomplished and as for child #19, well I'm sure he'll have some little brothers and sisters to play with within the next few years.
As for me and my family.....if only we hadn't tied the tubes.
